Fire hose reel of fire self-rescue facility that should not be neglected

Fire hose reel and portable fire hose are effective equipment to control the initial fire of solid combustibles in buildings. They are small in water consumption, easy to equip and use, and suitable for non-professionals to use to extinguish the initial fire.

Fire hose reel and portable fire hose are two different fire fighting facilities, but the setting requirements are basically the same, and the more common one is the fire hose reel. Hong Kong area is also called fire hose reel.

Set Requirements

1. Buildings or places not specified in Article 8.2.1 of the Code for Fire Protection of Construction Design and the following buildings or places that meet the requirements of Article 8.2.1 may not be equipped with indoor fire hydrant systems, but fire hose reels or portable fire hoses should be installed:

1) Single and multi-storey Class D and Class E workshops (warehouses) with fire resistance rating of Grade I or II and less combustibles.

2) Class D factory buildings with fire resistance rating of 3. 4 and building volume of not more than 3000m ³; Class E factory buildings (warehouses) with fire resistance rating of 3. 4 and building volume of not more than 5000m ³.

3) Grain warehouses, vaults, independent buildings away from towns and unattended.

4) Buildings containing items that can cause combustion and explosion in contact with water.

5) There are no production and domestic water supply pipes indoors, and outdoor fire water is taken from other buildings with a storage tank and a building volume of not more than 5000m ³.

2. Fire hose reels or portable fire hoses shall be installed in densely populated public buildings, buildings with a building height of more than 100m and commercial service outlets with a building area of more than 200m ². The interior of high-rise residential buildings should be equipped with portable fire hoses.

3. The fire hose reel directly connected to the indoor water supply system shall be set in the elderly care facility, and the setting distance of the fire hose reel shall not be greater than 30.0m.
