Understanding Hose reels

(1) Structural requirements

1. Measures shall be taken to clean the residual extinguishing agent in the passage in the hose reel.

2. The rotating part of the reel should be able to swing horizontally outward around the fixed axis of the rotating arm, and the swing angle should not be less than 90 °.

3. The hose reel used by a single person shall be provided with an insurance mechanism to ensure that the hose cannot be unfolded when the inlet valve is not opened.

4. The opening and closing direction of the inlet valve of the reel shall be clearly marked. Clockwise to close.

5. The connection between the hose and the reel should ensure that the hose is wound. The hose near the connection part shall not be flat.

(2) Rotational performance

The starting torque of the hose reel for single use shall not be greater than 20N · m. The starting torque of other hose reels shall not be greater than 120N · m.

(3) Appearance quality

The surface of the reel shall be treated for corrosion resistance. The paint layer of the painted part should be uniform.

(4) Spray gun performance

1. The spray gun should have a switch, and the conversion of "on" and "off" should be completed by one action.

2. The spray gun using water should be DC type or DC spray mixed type.

3. The thread of the spray gun should meet the requirements of internal thread 7H and external thread 8g in GBl97. The thread shall have smooth surface and complete tooth shape.

5. (5) Hose performance

1. The specifications of the hose, its inner diameter, length and corresponding deviation shall comply with the following table.

2. The rated working pressure of the hose should be the same as that of the hose reel. The test pressure and burst pressure of the hose shall be 1.5 times and 3.0 times of the rated working pressure respectively. There shall be no leakage and rupture respectively.

3. Under the rated working pressure, the expansion rate of the outer diameter of the hose should be within the range of-5% to + 7%.

The axial elongation of the hose under the rated working pressure should be in the range of-6% to + 10%.

5. Except for the hose of the carbon dioxide reel, the other hoses should be marked (mark any point of the hose, and measure the outer diameter of the hose at the marked point. Wrap the hose around the smooth shaft with the marking point on the winding section. 6. The hose shall be subjected to low temperature test according to the specified conditions. After the low temperature test at -5 ℃, the hose should be able to deploy immediately. The test temperature of the hose working under low temperature conditions and using carbon dioxide is -30 ℃.

7. The physical and mechanical properties of the hose lining and covering materials shall comply with the relevant standards or industry standards of the corresponding materials.

8. The appearance of the hose shall be free of damage, scratch and local bulge.
